Matilda

Revisiting one of my childhood favorites, Roald Dahl's Matilda.

I haven't had too much time outside of working on Frozen (animating right now actually! ), but here are a few sketchy sketches!

And not that it shows, but I've been looking at a lot of Jean Jacques Sempe.

C'è una grande ricchezza espressiva nei gesti e nelle pose dei personaggi

Oh, yes, Matilda is one of my favorites! I love your rendition of it... especially the dad.

Sempé is a great fit for Dahl!

Awesome! Dahl definitely was a strong element of my childhood: not least of which because of the memory of Quentin's artwork.

You might be my favorite character designer existing!
Matilda was one of my favorite characters when I was a little girl, and I never imagined wearing glasses but... You make it work.
Amazing, as always.

I love Matilda and basically everything Roald Dahl ever did. It's kind of weird though because I didn't get to read these stories until I was already all grow-d-up so I'm not certain how I would have reacted to them as a child.

I'm also really looking forward to seeing "Frozen."
