Schoolism: Assignment #3, Pt. 1

This week's lectures focused on head construction and caricature.  The first part was to draw a specific person from a photo, as realistic as possible, taking in all the info we can.  Here's my bowler hat guy.
Then we were  toput that photo away and create 3 new caricatured variations side by side on the same page, based on the circle, square, and triangle.  Fun stuff!

Here are just a few other misc. studies.  Check out pickle nose!

The other half of our assignment will be to begin to add more character, clothing and personality to our Jeckyll/Hyde characters. By week 5 we will then just pick one of those 2 characters to take to completion throughout the nine weeks.

And this isn't really supposed to be anything, it just came out of trying to customize new brushes.  But it was inspired by Demoiselles D'avignon Pablo Picasso, one of my favorite paintings, which I finally saw
recently at the MOMA.

I might try it as well! It looks like a lot of fun :)
Great work as usual! I'm planning on taking the course. Did you ge thre full package where Steven reviews your work, or the self-taught one? Would you say it was worth it?

I've been meaning to play around with my brushes in photoshop to get different textures/effects to my drawings. Thanks for the inspiration, man!

Thanks for checkin them out everyone!

Rochelle- I did get the full course, and to me it's totally worth it. I am humbled and put in my place when Steven goes over my work.

Thanks Nori!

Garrett - Thanks man I wanna see what you come up with! A have a few choice brushes I can share with you if you like.

Leon - Ah so far I'd say I spend around 6-8 hours a week ballpark, I think I'll be doing more later, but it's definitely less than AM. These assignments I'm posting are all that there are. Good luck of your last term at AM!
